Our organisation is part of the nation-wide Third Age Trust. The Third Age Trust was founded in 1982 with the aim of providing a 'learning for life' structure, specifically for those in the third age and no longer in full-time employment. Today there are over 638 U3As with more than 186,000 members and is the fastest growing organisation in the country.

U3A stands for University of the Third Age. A self-help, self-funded educational and social organisation, we confer no degrees, but study and learn for the fun of it!

Our 500+ members are involved in over 60 study groups that range from Art Appreciation to Philosophy to Travellers' Tales and Path Finders. A full programme of theatre trips, outings and special events keep us all very busy.
